While the 2024 Kentucky Derby may be the focal point of the sports weekend, things are going to be fast and furious down in South Beach.
The Miami Grand Prix is set for this weekend, as the F1 series heads to Florida following a successful trip to Shanghai last week for the Chinese Grand Prix. The event, which debuted in 2022, has quickly become one of the most popular racing events in the United States.
The spectacle is not just simply watching the race. As is tradition when in Miami, there are tons of parties and a plethora of celebrity sightings at the event. With F1 increasing in popularity in the country, its following is growing wider and wider as well.
When it comes to famous couples, there is arguably none more notable right now than the power duo of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The international singer-songwriter and the Chiefs star tight end have been all over headlines dating back to September when the two were first tied together. Now, there is a good reason to believe the two will be in South Beach for the F1 race.

While nothing has been made official yet, there have been reports that Kelce and Swift could be in Miami to attend the F1 race this weekend, according to the US Sun.
The Chiefs tight end became an investor in the Alpine F1 team in October of 2023. He is joined by a few celebrities in the ownership group, including his Kansas City teammate Patrick Mahomes, PGA golfer Rory McIlroy, boxer Anthony Joshua and actor Ryan Reynolds.
The NFL offseason is in full swing, so Kelce has plenty of time on his hands to watch motor racing.
For Swift, she has a break in her Eras Tour schedule. Her last concert was back in March, but her nearly two-month break wraps up next week. She picks up again May 9 over in Europe, with the next leg of her concerts set to be held in France.
There is no evidence that Swift has attended an F1 race before.
While Swift attended a select few sporting events in the past, her intake of sports has greatly increased since she started dating Kelce. She was a frequent viewer at Chiefs games throughout the 2023 season, culminating in her appearance at Super Bowl 58, where Kansas City defeated San Francisco.
The Miami Grand Prix is another opportunity for Kelce to get Swift into more sports, according to the US Sun.
“Travis sees that Taylor is falling in love with sports, and he is excited to take her there, as she also wants to know more and more about his passions,” a source told the outlet.
Kelce may have recently become an investor into an F1 team, however, there is no evidence to suggest he has actually attended a race before.
Last year, Mahomes was at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix with his wife, Brittany, however, it was just the duo attending the event.
This year, it appears as thought Mahomes will be joined by his partner-in-crime on the field, along with his girlfriend.
“Before going to Europe, they see this as the last opportunity before the Eras Euro part madness starts, and they are looking forward to seeing the race, and see how the backstage, the paddock, and the whole F1 experience is,” a source said to the US Sun.
