The regular EFL Championship season has concluded, and we’re now heading into arguably the most engaging few games of the year: the playoffs.

Two teams, Leicester City and Ipswich Town, have already secured promotion to the Premier League by finishing in the top two places in the division. That means there is one spot left, which will go to the winner of the playoff final.

Leeds United, Southampton, West Brom and Norwich City will compete across two semifinals and the final at Wembley Stadium to determine who will be the third team to earn promotion to the top tier for 2024/25.

The Championship playoffs begin with the semifinal stage. The first legs take place on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

The return fixtures are staggered: Leeds face Norwich on Thursday, May 16, with Southampton hosting West Brom on Friday, May 17.

The final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 26. The kickoff time has not yet been officially determined.

The playoffs are seeded based on the teams’ league finishes this season. Leeds, who came third in the standings, face Norwich, who finished in sixth place and are therefore considered the more favourable draw.

Fourth-place Southampton will meet fifth-place West Brom. Leeds and Southampton will play the second legs of their semifinals at home, which is considered to be an advantage.
