The Knicks hobbled their way to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Before the start of the playoffs, it was announced that All-Star forward Julius Randle would undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. New York found a way to replace his production, but it was bit by the injury bug again in its first-round series with the 76ers.

Veteran forward Bojan Bogdanovic left Game 4 early with what appeared to be an ankle injury and did not return. Now, the Knicks are expected to be without the sharpshooter for the remainder of the playoffs.

Bogdanovic was removed from Game 4 against the 76ers after he and Nic Batum collided while fighting for a loose ball.

Bogdanovic remained on the ground in pain for a moment before walking off to the locker room. He did not return for the rest of the game or the series.

The Knicks announced on April 30 that Bogdanovic would undergo surgery on his left foot and be re-evaluated in three months, ruling him out for the rest of the playoffs.

Bogdanovic will also undergo surgery on a left wrist injury, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Even though he only averaged 12.8 minutes over the first four playoff games, Bogdanovic’s presence will be missed by an already thin Knicks frontcourt. He averaged 10.4 points per game on 37.0 percent shooting from 3 in 29 games after being traded to New York at the deadline.

Bogdanovic appeared in 57 regular season games between the Pistons and Knicks in 2023-24. He averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.8 minutes over New York’s four playoff games.

Bogdanovic is in the first season of a two-year, $39.0 million contract extension he signed with the Pistons in the 2022 offseason. He is on the books for $19 million next season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
