How to watch Amanda Serrano vs. Nina Meinke

0

Amanda Serrano headlines a show in her home country of Puerto Rico and defends her status as the unified featherweight champion on March 2. The 12 three-minute round fight against Nina Meinke airs on DAZN worldwide.

A seven-division world champion, Serrano is on a four-fight win streak. In 2023, she beat Erika Cruz to become the undisputed featherweight champion, beat Heather Hardy in a rematch, and last fought in October, beating Danila Ramos. The Ramos fight was the first 12 three-minute round contest for female fighters since 2007. Serrano eventually relinquished the WBC title because the governing body refuses to sanction 12 three-minute rounds in women’s boxing.

Meinke turned pro in 2016. The German won the European featherweight title in 2019 against Helene Lascombe. She lost against Sarah Mahfoud in 2022 for the IBF featherweight title and has since won six in a row. Ranked the top fighter in the IBF rankings, Meinke is ready to make the most of the opportunity presented to her.

“My team and I have wanted this fight for a long time,” said Meinke. “Finally, we got it, and I am happy, well-trained, and motivated to be the first female boxer from Germany to go the 12-round distance. Amanda Serrano is an outstanding person who has already made such a big change to women’s boxing and the fight for equal rights, so I am more than proud to be a part of that movement. Of course, I am going to support it with all my heart and show the world women are just as capable in going 12 rounds at 3 minutes. I will be the best version of myself on this day, and I am ready to make it a great fight! And new!”
