When it comes to qualifying, Joey Logano is on a roll.

The Team Penske star is a two-time Cup Series champion, most recently in the 2022 season. He is yet to place on the season, suffering back-to-back disappointing results at Daytona and Atlanta.

But the speed he has shown in clean air has been frightening. He reaffirmed his commitment to burnt rubber Saturday, posting an impressive lap time en route to yet another top spot in qualifying.

Who else showed out during the precursor to Sunday’s race? And just how is the field shaping up ahead of another enticing matchup underneath the Las Vegas sun?

Joey Logano captured the pole at Las Vegas, continuing his impressive run of form in qualifying races this season.

The Team Penske star burst through the Sin City desert, clocking in with the fastest lap time of the day. He posted a top speed of 184.357 mph, 0.137 mph faster than that of Hendrick Motorsports star Kyle Larson, who will join Logano in the front row.

The wind was howling at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It offered Logano just the boost he needed to pace himself past the rest of the field on Saturday afternoon for his 30th-career pole.

“I’ve got to think it’s wind that made the difference,” Logano said, per NASCAR.com. “The first run, I was pretty slow through (Turns) 1 and 2 all the way through the corner… we (must have) had a big gust the first run, or something that held us back a little bit.
