In a way, Jason Kelce wrestled opposing NFL defensive lines for 13 years.

The future Hall of Famer retired after the 2023 season, but he’s back wrestling opponents — this time for WWE.

Kelce and Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson came to Rey Mysterio’s defense during WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia on Saturday night. Mysterio went on to win his fight thanks to the help of the two Eagles linemen.

Kelce and Johnson kept their identities hidden when they first jumped into the arena. The two lineman were wearing Luchador masks as they threw Dominik Mysterio around.

Dominik was facing off against his father Rey in a tag-team match. With the help of Kelce and Johnson, Rey took the victory.

After the win, the two lineman revealed their identities to the crowd and stood on the ropes in celebration. Both took their shirts off afterward, too — a storied Kelce tradition.

Why was Jason Kelce at WrestleMania?

WrestleMania 40 was held at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Eagles. Additionally, Kelce and Johnson are wrestling fans, so it made sense for the WWE to invite both linemen.

It’s common for the WWE to invite famous athletes and celebrities to take part in matches. LaVar Ball, Lonzo Ball and LaMelo appeared in a match six years ago.
