One night after coming out on the losing end at WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes was one of the big winners at WWE’s Slammy Awards.
The American Nightmare was named the promotion’s Male Superstar of the Year, beating out Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Gunther and Logan Paul.
Fresh off successfully defending the Women’s World Champioship against Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley took home the Female Superstar of the Year.

In addition to winning the men’s Royal Rumble for the second year, Rhodes earned a victory over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam and helped lead his team to a win int he men’s WarGames clash at Survivor Series.
Especially with Roman Reigns working a limited schedule, the 38-year-old has carried the flag for the company like few others over the past year. The brief but vocal “We Want Cody” movement was a testament to his popularity with the WWE Universe.
Not surprisingly, CM Punk’s shocking return at Survivor Series in his hometown of Chicago was also highlighted during the Slammys.
Punk’s free agency at the time was no secret, but many fans wondered whether his relationship with WWE had been broken beyond repair. Even with a wave of speculation about his possible comeback, it was nonetheless a jaw-dropping moment when “Cult of Personality” hit Allstate Arena.
