When is UFC 300 on today?

Alex Pereira has limited experience in MMA but has accomplished more than most who have entered the octagon over the years. A double champion in just seven UFC fights, “Poatan” has the skills and patience to back up any potential “G.O.A.T.” talk.

Pereira looks to enhance the conversation when he defends the UFC light heavyweight title against former champion Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 on April 13.

Hill has competed in nine fights inside the octagon, starting with an appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. “Sweet Dreams” beat Glover Teixeira in 2023 to win the UFC light heavyweight title but was forced to vacate it after suffering an injury. He has wins against Ovince Saint Preux, Johnny Walker, Thiago Santos, and Teixeira, making him dangerous.

However, Pereira believes Hill won’t be much of a challenge compared to his last opponent, one of the most intimidating figures in MMA whom he beat for light heavyweight gold in Jiri Prochazka.

“I think Jiri is more accurate and precise with his strikes, the way that he flows, the way that he fights,” Pereira told CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri via MMA Junkie. “Jamahal Hill has a little more advantage on his power, which makes him dangerous, too, because nobody wants to take a hit and go down in a fight. But when you talk about skill level, Jiri Prochazka is superior.”

UFC 300 is a stacked card featuring Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan for the UFC strawweight title, Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway for the BMF Title, and more.
